Hector Longo here in Bill Burt’s Blogosphere, just looking to vent a little on the NFL playoffs and a tremendous Super Bowl matchup.
First and foremost, I’m tired of the lame argument that there are no great teams in the NFL.
I submit that the Steelers are indeed a “great” team.
And I submit that the Cardinals are [...]

One the best efforts by a New England team in the glory-laden Belichick era.
Awesome, awesome job.
Now to beg for some help.
Hector Longo out.
Be sure to read Bill Burt’s thoughts and Hector’s two-minute drill in the monday editions of The Eagle-Tribune.

Belichick pounds the beaten fighter with a quick kick to the two, a genius call if there was one.
This comes off the Bills throwing on fourth-and-one against the wind.
My eight-year-old is more qualified to coach an NFL team than Dick jauron.
All of Swampscott can hang its head in shame.

J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets!
Pats go up two scores in this one, the equivalent of a 12-0 lead in soccer.
Time to start rooting for the Mangenius, folks.

Checkers vs. chess

Bill Belichick is toying with his counterpart, how about the second successful fourth-down keeper by matt cassel?
Was any defense more unprepared the second time around than the bills?

Offense
Line (B-) … Winning the battle, sort of. It’s not like the Pats are dominating here. Crucial early false start by Nick Kaczur.
Backs (B) … They’re running hard, not Freddie Jackson hard, but hard.
QB (A) … Terrific run by Cassel helps kill the 2nd quarter.
Receivers (Inc) … Wind makes it impossible to grade.Ben watson no [...]

All of New England has to be scratching its head right now, wondering how Stephen Gostkowski’s field goal try did not go through from 26 yards out.
Yikes.

Fourth and 5, great run, amazing run, by matt Cassel. as a friend said, I want a Matt Cassel Fathead, right now.
The kid’s got spunk.
Dear Fathead company, five words for you: Matt Cassel and Carlos Pena.
Thanks,

The Buffalo Bills have become, under Dick Jauron, the great American tease team.
Watch this team pushing around the Patriots, because it doesn’t matter.
They could throw a severe wrench into all the Patriots playoff plans. After a 3-0 first quarter, things do not look good.

Nick kaczur flinches at the wrong time, forcing a punt.
And matt slater, he of the muffed kickoff costing this team dearly against the steelers, doesn’t try to cover the muffed punt, he tries to toss it back, not realizing it was tipped.
Just two dumb plays, and half the first quarter is over. The pats lose [...]

We’re three minutes in, and I’ve had enough of Gumbel and Dierdorf telling me about the wind.
We get it, it’s blowing. Pats take the ball with the wind, time to go to work here near midfield.
The good news, the Pats won’t have to tackle Marshawn Lynch today.
The bad, no Richard Seymour (bad back) on a [...]

As expected, a ho-hum second half with little eventful to speak of.
New England totally takes care of business.
Professional win against an overwhelmed foe. That’s the good side.
The bad side is we now have to think about Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin against this secondary. Yikes.
Time to root the Steelers back against the Ravens. New England [...]

And I don’t mean for the execution.
I thought celebrations had to be a one-man affair. The Willhite, Meriweather and Co. dance after Jonathan Wilhite’s last interception has to be illegal by NFL rules.
I just wish somebody would step up and stop these guys, who aren’t good and especially aren’t anywhere near mediocre as celebrants.
Some other [...]

OK, big guy, way to make up for the horrendous coverage with a kick return for a TD. You are now even for the day. The extra dancing is so uncalled for.

I blame L.S. Hobbs III

Higgins, Ellis, Higgins, look for the name on his back if you can’t remember the number. The Raiders show some offensive life. They still can’t stop this offense, now 21-7.
