As Marc noted, Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) has introduced The Citizen Participation Act, the first Federal anti-SLAPP legislation, to Congress.
Like any bill, this one needs your help.  Yes, you, the internet user whose free speech, financial security and family’s well being are at stake if you find yourself in the crosshairs of such [...]

A little over a week ago I mentioned that New York Governor David Paterson was shaking in his boots regarding a then-unpublished piece that may end his political career.  As Ferdinand Bardamu speculated, the fact that Paterson handled it so poorly virtually assured that a forgivable infraction would become fatal.
Yesterday, the New York [...]

Yes, yes, everyone knows that in Citizens United v. FEC, the Supreme Court split 5-4, on the same old lines, and decided that the First Amendment mandates that corporations and unions should not have limits on how much money they can use to grease the political wheels in their favor. Lets set aside the [...]

And I will not bother to write a post about it. Patrick at Popehat did just fine. Well, and Scott Greenfield did too. I have nothing more to add except that I hope someone pours water on Martha Coakley and melts that evil piece of crap.

Relevant to Massachusetts readers, Scott Brown has defeated Martha Coakley and will be its newest U.S. Senator.
Apparently, the people of the Commonwealth let she lose.

This election could have been decided on facial masculinity with the same result and thin margin of victory.  Yikes.

YES WE DID!!!

by Jason Fischer
Republican candidate Scott Brown has successfully knocked off his Democrat opponent Martha Coakley in a Massachusetts special election to fill the late Ted Kennedy’s Senate seat.  In doing so, the people of Massachusetts have all but doomed President Obama’s hopes for getting the currently proposed health care reform legislation passed.  The message to [...]

The GOP launched a URL shortening service, GOP.am. Within hours, pranksters were using it to create faux GOP links to bondage sites, the American Communist Party, etc. Initially, the GOP had a bit of egg on its face, but they seem to have hired someone over there who understands lulz. Now, any [...]

I really used to like Alan Grayson.
It was nice to see that there was one democrat who had a pair of balls. Grayson seemed to stand up at times that other Democrats would cower and wimper like the typically spineless little bunnies that they are. Grayson seemed to be a man of convictions [...]

“Awe!  Come ON!  I made a movie about it.  That proves it’s true.”

Director Kappos, of the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO), writes on his blog this week about how the Office intends to fast-track the examination of patent applications that deal with so-called “green” technologies.  Great headline for a month ago, [...]

Palin Confusion

Many people are confused by Sarah Palin. But, it seems that a recent parody of her book has confused a lot of people as to which one is the real Palin product.
Of course, when the author of a book is, herself, a joke and a walking talking parody, it can be confusing [...]
